mk3 1.6 weird noise

i got a funny noise comin from the exhaust or engine when cold as soon as up to temp she sounds fine or when cold and i raise the revs to like 1500 she sounds ok just idle when cld

almost sounds like a thin cat lke the thing is worn out but put it on a mot machine and shows it would pass easy

not sure and iv been lookin at it for ages and cat wok it out

can any 1 help will see if i can get a clip of the noise on here if no 1 can help

Loose heatshield.

i took that off and made no diffrence i was thinkin ov that at first but it was not making a noise anyway it was bolted down realy well

get a screwdriver, put blunt end to your ear and touch various parts of the engine to try to locate the source of the noise

it deffo sounds like exhaust
