Hand polishing
« on: 21 June 2010, 00:08 »
Hi

Just wondering if anyone could help me here?

Spent a few hours out side today messing around with some autoglym resin polish trying to get out scratches from the inner door ( thought best place to test )
Basicly applied some paint via a halfords touch up pens - waited for it to dry - sanded using 1500 grit ( yes i know i could use some finer stuff tomorrow i will try ) - then polished
It all came out very nicely but my problem is it took loads of attempts to get it out like 5-6 applications of the polish?

Now im gonna say this will be easier when using 2000 grit sand paper
but is there any other methods i could use to make the polishing stange easier? like after sanding using some rubbing compound?
and no i cant get a machine polisher im skint lol

you can only get limited results from hand polishing and your technique has to be good aswell. i know you state you cant get a machine polisher but thats really the only quicker method available really.
