Rear Wiper

I have issues with my rear wiper, I've searched the forum and can't find the info I need.

The rear wiper on my 90 Spec Gti 8v won't turn off, as soon as you turn the key it comes on and stays on.

The only way to stop it is to remove the fuse!

I've checked the relay, it clicks at the right times (no2, relay with a 72 on it), the wiper still works with it unplugged.

I've checked the stalks, the wiper still goes with them all unpluged.

I've had the fuse box out and can't see any issues.

I'm thinking theres a short somewhere after the relay and before the motor, I've looked at the wires near the boot hinge and they look fine.

Anybody any ideas?

think ya need a multimeter to trace it out mate. but before you do have another look under the steering wheel as i know the flashers have there own connection and do not use the same cabling as the indicators it could be the same for the rear wiper as its the same principle to operate them, hope that helps some.
