Speak to Revo - I think the tuning lock is only one step removed from being a myth. I was told this by a certain re-mapping outfit, starting with "S" and ending with "P". Don't know the exact build week of my Mk6 GTD, but it was in theory one of those with "tuning protection" (I collected it in early Dec as a new ex-showroom model, so poss a Sept/Oct build date too)
When I spoke to Revo about it, they laughed and said it's simply a case of not understanding how to get around it in the code - "it's mainstream Bosch electronics"
Revo also ensure that each time a new map is flashed from the handheld controller, that the flash-count in the ECU is reset - otherwise it's a dead giveaway that you've been remapping
