Dodgy Gti ad?
« on: 19 May 2010, 00:40 »
Just saw this on autotrader and was immediately suspicious:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201020359107060/sort/priceasc/usedcars/maximum-mileage/up_to_20000_miles/transmission/automatic/maximum-age/up_to_2_years_old/quantity-of-doors/5/price-to/20000/model/golf/make/volkswagen/keywords/gti/radius/1500/page/1/postcode/mk451au?logcode=p

I thought Pirellli's were 3dr only, and weren't made in 09?

Just checked the reg and the details don't match with the ad either - it says it's 3dr and doesn't mention auto (which it should do for a dsg):

As the old saying goes, if it looks too good to be truth....it probably is....

Only a guess, but judging by the 'FN' prefix on the reg plate i'd say this was an import.

I though the Pirelli was available as a 5dr?

Even if an import, surely the VRN would match the car in terms of description?

There is another 5 door for sale in a VW dealers, same colour and spec. I was considering looking at this car, but I'm now thinking twice.
