dashboard warning light

for when the boot is open, mine doesnt work, had a look at the fuses but cant find one for the boot, the light in the boot works, i am puzzled.

i wouldnt worry to much, if it was the otherway round i would, (could be the result of another comon mk4 golf fault) as you alarm wouldnt lock/arm properly and go off.i would say its probably the switch unit which is built into the latch unit its self, ill have to find out wether the light works indipendantly of the unit 1st, if it does the switch may be faulty, or (another thought) your car dosnt have this feature???

my mk4 20v gti hasnt got this feature to tell me when the boot is open??

thats interesting, my mates got a Y-Reg tdi, and that does it, i used to work for a car finance company, used to look after all the cars, i remember a V-Reg GTi done it and it tells you on the message screen too, strange :huh:

theres that many different model of mk4 golf out there and with such a large range of options!!!!, id check as to wether your car has this function 1st !!!!!

how can i check if its supposed to have it? btw that photo of the hoff makes me laugh  :laugh:
