Hi all,
I have a 1986 Mk2 GTi 8V, which I'm expecting to get MOT'd, taxed and back on the road in the next week or two. It's been parked off-road for much too long whilst I drive my dull company car around...
I have a few minor problems to iron out once the car is legal again. There are a few small patches of rust to sort out (nothing deadly), the catch for the boot only works intermittently, the aerial needs replacing, the passenger seat needs its cable replacing so it will tip forwards properly, the dashboard surround is cracked, the (factory) sunroof seal needs replacing, that sort of thing; there's nothing seriously wrong at all, which is good news for a car that's done 170,000 miles and has sat off-road rotting for a few years now... The most expensive problem at the moment is the nasty orange colour which the red paint on the bonnet has faded to.
A few years ago I found an awesome page on the web somewhere, with a troubleshooting guide for a whole long list of symptoms for the K-Jet injection system. I can't find it at all any more. Maybe it's gone. Does anyone have any ideas? Maybe a link? Anyway, the particular problem which that page addresses was this; the car runs nicely, but the idle speed fluctuates whilst the engine is cold. What should I try to fix this?
Thanks,
Michael
