Hi all, just wanted to know if anyone knew what difference sp30 would make to my premium.

It really depends on your insurer and how many points you got for it. If it's a standard 3 point, £60 fine SP30, then most insurers will make a note and not do that much. However, if it was one where you got a 42-day ban for being so far over the limit you went to court, then their attitude may change. The best thing to do is to call your insurer and ask them.

Likely not to change at all. But you must tell them, as this is a Material Fact and if they should find out they can void your policy at any point and finding insurance somewhere else would be nigh on impossible after that!

It will go up, mine went up £120 on my first 3pts
and you must notify them or they will class that as with-holding information from them

No it won't. It may or may not go up. I'm with Adrian Flux and I told them about my SP30 as soon as I found out. 3 points and £60 fine, they said, and I quote:

"3 points we will do nothing about, however if you have 6 points or more, that is when increases in premium will start."

Until you renew? Hmmm, I've been running quotes with other insurers for the new car I've got in mind, and the increase is about £20 because of the SP30, but I'm under the assumption if I stayed with Adrian Flux that it'll be okay? Regardless if it's not £20 is hardly pushing it. It's my own fault in the first place.

Grand increase of £12 a year for those 6 points
