Need Advice
« on: 30 April 2010, 20:20 »
Hi,

Last week I left my job and I'm currently unemployed waiting to start in the RAF on 9th June.

It just so happens that my insurance is due for renewal on 25th May. Putting down unemployed on my quotes has pretty much doubled the £300 to £400 it was when I was a police officer to about £700 or more.

Clearly I can't put down that I'm a police officer anymore, and can't really put down RAF because I've not started there yet.

I've looked at temporary cover to take me from renewal to when I'm in the RAF (when I would take out a proper policy again) but Mr Aviva wants £270 for 28 days cover so he can go to some more music festivals!

Has anyone got any ideas on what I can do apart from go for a proper policy as unemployed and change job title to RAF when I join. I guess I'd then take the refund they'll give me minus sky high admin fees to auto-generate a letter and put it in the post.
Cheers,
Chris

Thanks for your help - can't do parents policy luke, it's fronting and naughty naughty

Went with the RAC in the end, decent price and I should get some refunded when I get a job again and tell them.

Cheers,
Chris.
