EVO: Golf GTI track comparison vid

Just came across this.  GTI vs Megane 250 Cup vs Leon Cupra R vs Focus RS.  Strange choice since I would have thought a Golf R would be more natural bedfellows to this lot.  maybe apart from price.

Anyone read the mag review and care to share a few highlights from it?  From the vid they praise the GTI's feel on the track and the DSG made up for the loss of power.

Mk6 Golf GTI 5dr, DBP, Monza Shadow, Xenons, ACC, RCD510, Park Assist, Camera, Lux pack.... and now bluetooth.... and now DSG!

the DSG made up for the loss of power.

I like the DSG gearbox, but I have never understood why journalists rave about it as much as they do. Yes, it's nicer to use than having to change gear yourself (IMO), but it's nowhere near as good as a 'proper' automatic. I drove the new BMW 5 Series last weekend, a 550i with BMW's new 8-speed auto 'box, and it's light years ahead of the DSG in terms of smoothness and reactivity.
