Changing crank postion sensor on a Mk3 GTi 8v
« on: 31 March 2010, 12:17 »

Good afternoon

Can anyone assist with some advice?

We are trying to change the crank position sensor on my Mk3 GTi daily driver. We are following the guide we found on here, but have hit a bit of a brick wall with the bottom starter motor bolt. This is the last one the we need to remove in order to release the front engine mount bracket and gain access to the sensor.

We have undone the nut from the end, but the bolt refuses to move. Any tips on how to do this? Anything we may have missed?

Thanks
Steve

Jack under the front of the engine to take the tension off.

Be careful you don't strip the thread on the bolt taking it out, if it's under pressure.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.
