im looking at getting some alloys (17's) and just want to know what tyres i would need for them, ive only got standard 15 alloys atm but have no idea how these tyre sizes work!!

Follow the below chart, they say for the best result be within 2%.
I would say you are looking at 225/45 on 17" alloys
