mk3 8 valve gearbox options
« on: 03 March 2010, 21:23 »
basically my gearbox is in a bit of a sorry state knocking on idle, reluctant to strip it down and be without a car, other than a obvious direct replacement box, what others are suitable or recommended?

Looks like a recon gearbox dude, about £300 thats with the clutch fitted but you will have to buy the clutch on top dude. Or just have to put up with it dude until it's totally f**ked lol.

Cheapest I know of is a box from a seat Toledo or Ibiza gti as quite a few people/breakers yards don't realise they ate the same even the engine code. 100 quid second hand when I've been looking not long ago. Eventually got it for 40 as I gave the bloke a hand to remove it from a 'Toledo breaking' add en eBay.
