Local 16v MK1 owner (Maidenhead) required...
« on: 16 February 2010, 20:26 »
Hi

I am in the process of plonking my 16v KR lump into my MK1 (MK2 had a disagreement with a tree ), because my 1600 GTi, although quick , is a nightmare on long distances .

But I have made some rather unusual mods to the engine bay :nerd:, and would really appriciate having a look under someones bonnet who has already crossed that bridge, before I do and start crying .

There is no rush, as the car is SORN'D and living in the garage, awaiting simple things, like seats...

Thank you

kraM

Rubjonny,

Very pretty,  I think I'll have to get mine taxed, then bring it over to you, as it would make life easier with them side by side.

I assume this is the cab you were building when I brought that flange (oo-er) from you last summer?  Did you find out what was wrong with the brakes?

yes indeed! the problem was I fitted the brake servo non-return valve the wrong way round, so no servo assistance

How long did you pull your hair out for before you discovered it?
