Mk V Gti - is cruise control standard
« on: 17 February 2010, 13:25 »
Hi guys / gals

About to sell my car and looking to get a Mk V Gti

Toying with the idea of DSG 3 door in red but can't get too choosey with 2nd hand market

Could anyone tell me if cruise control is standard on a 6sp manual or DSG?

Looking forward to future meets and help

cruise is extra....I don't have it on mine but had it on my previous car & to be honest rarely used it. It's certainly not worth dismissing a decent car that doesn't have it - I think it can actually be retrofitted too

Oooooh a few replies

Yeah I hear your point that cruise is rarely used, but I'm on the M4 & M40 quite a lot so would find it useful - especially if I manage to find a good DSG GTI

quick update for you

My requirements have changed a little and also had some nice inside info on the Mk 5

Now looking for a red with leather, 5 door (3 door not good as seats don't easily fold forward as head rest hits the roof), non DSG (expensive to maintain - £250 for oil alone), 17" alloys as 18" give a really crashy ride

My dealer mate is on the case and my car is now on the market
