Radio wire up connections help

Hi All

Do all radio/cd players wire up the same? i am wanting to wire up my sterio in my 16v but i am no electrician, does anyone have any advice or pictures of how to connect up???

Ie red to red, brown to brown etc etc,,,, is that simple?????

If it's got standard ISO plugs, (2 rectangular plugs with 8 pins in each) it should be a case of plug and play.

You may need to join the yellow and red wire from the headunit together to give you a permenent live for the pre-sets memory.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

all moden stereos have the same connections, and will plug right into a MK2 just as long as no-one has butchered your wiring loom.  only thing is the live & ign live wires on the MK2 are the opposite way round on MK2, but most stereos have bullet connectors so you can swap these over. also, most mk2s from the factory didnt have an ign live feed, so you have to plug both ign live & live wires on the stereo to the live feed.
