I think the worst time to have a heart attack is during a game of charades. Especially if your teammates are bad guessers.

This is what you need;

I wish it was that easy!! :cry:
My car is a VW Golf GTi Mk5  May 2005 model.

If you follow the links on that site you end up with two sat nav units, neither of which looks anything like the RNS MFD2 that is fitted in my car. I bought the car thinking it would be easy to get a satnav cd but it isn't. The dealer insist that it is a DVD, which is wrong.

I was hoping to get a secondhand one for £20/30 as I am changing the satnav to an RNS510 in a few weeks, but I can't even find the correct version anywhere.

Is there anyone in the Southampton area that has an old version they want to sell? :smiley:

There are always a few up for grabs on fleabay, and as long as you don't want the latest version, you should be able to pick one up for <£30. Basically an CD version for the MFD2 should be OK.

Can you post a pic of your headunit?

I think the early mfd2 Cd version uses the same disc as the older model mfd as seen in the mk4 golf.

I've got one myself but can't be bothered to update the maps.

The MFD2 is pictured wrong on the site but the MFD2 CD does use DX maps.
There is a version of the MFD2 that is DVD based which used EX maps where the map cover europe rather then the UK.

I had a similar problem when I bought my golf, no CD/DVD and confussion over which model of MFD2.

In the end I bought from the stealers but I'm not looking to change the system.
