Can someone please post a picture of the ISV controller that everyone's talking about? The one that sits behind the dash. My car doesn't have it, nor does it have any wiring for it. So I need to see the module to be able to source one. The connector with wiring colors would be of great help too.
Car was originally a G60 with Digifiz, aircon, electric windows&locks. At some point in history it's been transformed into KR. It's CE1 yet it has the hazard switch on the steering column(?).
The instrument cluster has 2 (one black other white) connectors and RPM instead of clock. The ignition switch has been updated to newer 1990 Golf (the cubic black switch) not the white rounded one.
I'm trying to restore the poor thing. The engine harness doesn't have an ECU port, just the TCI (the ignition module). Also 2 of the 3 temp. sensors on the engine have that copper terminal broke, and no loose connectors for them. The one functional temp sensor has the yellow/red wire that feeds the cluster to give water temp. I started the engine every morning for the last 3 years by sticking my middle finger under the fuel distributer to lift the plunger till I can hear the injectors running for a second or 2, then get in the car, crank the engine while flooring the gas pedal.
The first 5 minutes idling are nasty and tricky to keep the engine running but once it heats up the car was ok and I was satisfied with its average perfomance.
After lurking a bit here I decided I want to get the system working and see how a proper KR engine would feel like to drive. I found an ECU that has this in Green printed:
811 907 384
TAN Made in Germany
TA Triumph-Adler
Is this the right ECU? The ones I've read about usually have other part numbers like (5DA 005 155-00)...also what's a Triumph-Adler? What/who is TAN?
I've spent 3 days searching for a KR engine loom, couldn't find one. My goal is to have the idle switch, WUR & ISV all working...and doing the WUR mod if I can get my hands on the proper tools.
I'll post pix as there are other parts I took 3 years ago from the previous owner and I have no clue what they are.
Thanks!
