help plz with fuel lines
« on: 28 January 2010, 20:39 »
im just in the finishing stages of swaping my 1.6 for a 8v twr donington engine but i have a problem with fueling at first the fuel was continuesly being pumped into the cylinders and just flooded to the piont that the bores were nearly full. when i removed the fuel lines from the other car i didnt make a note were the feed and returns go so i think i may have them the wrong way round i was just wondering weather the feed pipe goes on the top conector of the fuel rail or does it go on the conector at the bottom of the rail underneath to wot i think is the pressure regulator?
chz guys

the feed pipe goes to the fuel rail, return goes to the fpr. it sounds more liek you have blown the ecu, check the gearbox earth is good

No the pump should not run all the time, i would guess you have blown the ecu.

yeh its looking more like that way now just checked with noid lights whether the injectors are working corectly ther not lol they just seem to be staying open all the time and not pulsing. they switch on an earth from the ecu? i cleaned up the earth on gearbox and also tried puting an earth striaght from the batery to the metal body of the ecu. i dont supose you now wot pin on the ecu the earth goes to? im guna try an check the continuity of the wire then i will hopefully be sure its the ecu for defo

mine did that long enough to fill bores with fuel and cause some pretty epic waterfalls of petrol out plug holes!

is your coil earthed to the head? thats the one i had missed, and since earthing it properly have had no issues with it at all.

if you can splice in a diag port, and get it on vagcom, it will tell you if you have 100% totalled the ecu, i was lucky and got away with it, hope you do too!
