paintwork question for me mk1
« on: 31 October 2004, 21:36 »
I need a little help with my restoration job. I have been having a go at the paintwork on my mk1, as the last owner gave it a 2nd coat of white dulux.
I have a sh!tty detail sander that kind of works and my right arm and a bit of wet and dry paper.
My question is what's the best way to get your paint off ready to spray ??
I don't want one popeye arm!
Any particular power tools that work well and are quite cheap.

thanks

When i was prepping my car for paitning i used notro morse which is like an acid peal for paint. It works well and may take a fw applications to get to bare metal.

cellulose thinners would be cheaper than nitro mores and less smelly
