Dreaded passenger door rattle
« on: 17 January 2010, 18:51 »
Had my 58 plate GTI 1 week now (has only done 6800 miles) & I already have discovered it has the seemingly infamous passenger door rattle - bit disappointing for a VW !!

Anyone have any fixes for it?

 thanks

 Simon

I've had this. It was the plastic part of the door compartment so they packed that out and it only tizz's occasionally now but it hasn't completely gone.

I had a rattle which i would have sworn was something loose, but followed a suggestion from another thread and 'lubricated' the door rubber with some Autoglym bumper/rubber care and polished the bodywork that the rubber is in contact with and it disappeared.  I couldn't believe it as I was so certain it was something loose....worth a try.
