One of my foglights was missing a seal, so the bulb blew a couple of months back. I changed the bulb and replaced the seal. A few weeks later I heard a knocking noise coming from the front of the car, which on further investigation turned out to be the foglight bulb and holder which had come out of the lamp, and was rattling free inside the bumper.
I finally got it all out today, and it looks like the bulb has melted the plastic, which has caused the bulb holder to break in two, leaving the bulb and the majority of the holder dangling inside the bumper. I'm not too sure why it melted as the foglight was working fine before the bulb blew (and the new bulb is still working now).
I noticed that the rating on the bulb is 100w. Is this correct?
