Vacuum hose queries
« on: 16 January 2010, 20:01 »
Firstly, the hose that leaves the throttle body, goes into a 'T' piece, that splits one way to the fuel pressure regulator and the other to the airbox - what is the point of the hose going to the air box? Is it just to give the FPR a constant, albeit very weak air supply? What would happen if i blocked it?

Secondly, the dash clocks have a vacuum hose that plugs in the back, does the source of this start on the right side of the intake manifold next to the one-way valve that leads to the brake servo?

Mine is blocked due to having a reet chavy k&n

I am probably wrong but the one to the dash, is that something to do with the mpg reading on the mfa? All of the smaller breather pipes seem to be blocked with screws on mine and the mpg doesnt say anything on the dash

Pretty sure the vac hose going to the airbox is for the hot air flap inside the base of the airbox, i think if you block it off it means the flap wont open which is no big deal really.
