brakes not right, help pse
« on: 19 January 2010, 09:18 »
Hi folks,
i'm out in germany at the moment for a few weeks and by brakes have gone a bit soft, to say the least.  when i put my foot on the pedal i hear a shhhhh sound as if it is air,  i have lost the instant stop i used to have and is now very slow to stop.  has any body any ideas as to what it could be.  as i said im in germany for the next few weeks learning german but i'm crap at it . i will def need to get it fixed before my journey back to dundee..

sugestions welcome.

i had it serviced 2 weks ago and nothing was picked on the brakes, i.e the wear etc
thanks in advance.

its a golf gt sport 57 plate  only 2 1/2 year old.

thx
steph

What is the fluid level like in the brake fluid reservoir? If it's gone right down then it sounds like you've got a leak somwhere in the system.

Either way it's bad news, so get it to a decent garage ASAP!

Could be the seals in the master cylinder. Get it to a garage ASAP.....
