I use a washing up scourer (rough green plastic thing) for mine followed by auto glym metal polish, then normal car polish then wax (collinite for me) and it works a treat.  Using the wax means you won't have to do so much work the next time.  Regular cleaning is the key since sh!te will soon bake on otherwise and get very difficult to shift.

Cheers everybody. Well, I've gone for some Autosol and a scourer and will have a go tomorrow. Assuming it's not up to its exhaust in snow as it's just started again!!!!

WD40 is pretty good at shifting stuborn soot as well  :wink:

It's amazing how much you notice a dirty tailpipe when the rest of the car has been detailed and you dont touch it.

I think a light coating of brake dust on the wheels and a dirty exhaust is a pretty cool look!  :smug:

A consistently dirty car (i.e. bodywork, wheels, exhaust tips, all over) is kinda cool. Especially when it's so filthy you can't see the number plate.

But, having shiny polished paintwork and dirty wheels/exhaust tips, is like wearing a freshly pressed suit with dirty pants and socks.

Yeah, I don't clean my car all that often but when I do I like to do it properly, tips and all  :smiley:
