Advice: MK3 GTI light performance mods
« on: 22 December 2009, 11:45 »
Sorry guys, I know there are posts which cover this but could I summarise my performance mods to see what you think. I'm not looking for the fastest Golf, or something to take on track just yet, so I am considering:

1. Decent oil from the guys at Opie
2. K&N panel filter
3. Consider air flow options into airbox as posted on this site

Is there anything else to consider?

Many thanks,

Simon

Going on a diet. Weight is a huge factor.

All 3 above are unlikely to give you any real performance increase but will improve your fuel consumption and throttle response.

Thanks Horney. Are there any easy wins on the weight front after the spare tyre removal? It would be good to keep the rear seats in and actually they seem pretty light anyway.

Cheers,

Simon

Also get yourself an exhaust system, i would suggest Jetex!!

But as said you won't really get much performance increase.
