Strange clocks problem

OK, not used my car for two and a half days (as my boss took me up to sunderland to watch the match coporate styley). Used it yesterday no problems, come to use it this morning, and my clocks had reset themsleves (Time reset to 00:00) Trip counts all reset. First thing i thought off was maybe the battery, but my radio hasnt lost power at all - as its remember what position it is and pictures etc i have set up on it so im finidng it a bit strange why they would reset? They are all fully functional again now and hasnt done it again. Say the only difference is that the temperature has dramatically dropped!?

Any thoughts

This use to happen in the GF's old Polo, would reset itself if it didn't get used for a few days then it started doing it when you were driving along

Took the clocks out of the dash and it turned out to be the plug into the back of the clocks was a bit dodgy. Put some strong tape over the back of the plug to hold it firmly in place and it was fine after that

Not saying it definitely that but it's worth a try
