Help in removing baked on gunk on exhaust tips????
« on: 06 December 2009, 22:26 »
Hey people, has anyone got any suggestion in how to remove the baked on stuff on the exhaust tips of a MRK V GTI?

I’ve tried using Autosol metal polish, but with not much luck. The muck is baked on good a proper.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Mrk V, GTI, 3dr, DSG, heated seats, winter pack, cruise control, rear parking sensors and now thanks to GizzyWizzy and SteveP in the MK6 section a RCD 510. Awesome!

if its mega baked on and has been for some time you might have to use some fine wire wool then some different grade compounds to bring back the shine, once youve got all the crap off and got it back shiney again seal it with some sealent and wax to minimise the crap bonding to the exhaust.

Sound advice there, I'd recomend blackfire as the metal sealant!
