Aviva - B******s
« on: 05 February 2010, 20:46 »
Use to be with Norwich Union - now Aviva as my insurance provider. When bought Golf, they gave me some ridiculous price which I didn't wanted to pay so cancelled my insurance with them back in June 09. Ofcourse I paid cancellation charges, and on top of that they reimbursed £17 back into my bank account stating thats what they owe me. Also it shows in my bank statement for month of june as a proof   :lipsrsealed:

Anyways, now after 7 months, I've received letter from them stating I owe them £199.18  WTF

Rang them to talk about and collection department said I need to pay this and there is no way out. Obvioulsy I said f*** that, I'm not paying anything. Ask him to transfer my call to customer services as he didn't have any answer to reimbursement I received from them. Customer service didn't give me any accurate reason either and bloke said he will give me ring after finding more info on it. 2 days have passed, heard nothing from them.

What do you guys suggest, what should I do  :undecided:

Ring them back.  Why are they saying you owe them £199 for what?

All NU calls are recorded (I know as I used to work there albeit in commercial). This sounds like a classic example of their "superb" customer sservice where someone's got an issue and they say they'll call back and never do. What you need to do is to ask to speak to the manager immediately as the service you have received up to this point has been abysmal. By the sounds of things going straight to Customer Services is utterly pointless as they will not be dealing with the issue and will not have access to the same systems as the debtors department.

NU are targeted on how well they deal with complaints and will want to get things sorted. If you are getting nowhere threaten to involve the insurance ombudsman.

Keeping schtum. Mostly.
