Not to jump on the band wagon
« on: 25 November 2009, 18:31 »
Just read through the GTD report, that was going to be the car I was going to get until the dealer talked me out of it and saved me a couple of grand or more. So the GT 140 I have. On average its doing 50.3 MPG over 700 miles with plenty of grunt and 6th gear is 2000rpm at 80...

But tomorrow I will be using the bluefin handset to alter the ECU so will let you know how it go's. Advantage is I can remove for any warranty claims and servicing. Fingers crossed it all go's well.

Yes you can remove it but if the dealers check they will see how many times it has been flashed. As far as I know.
I'm also interested in the Bluefin but that kind of put me off.

From what I understand any mod can be detected these days, my guess is they would only check if they need to, as they say in other threads, remove replace and just pray nothing go's wrong and if it does hope its bluefins fault. 7 days free trail just postage to pay.

Plus I'm not a silly boy racer just want more umph and smooth out the rev range a little. Stay tuned

I totally agree with you but I personally wouldn't hold my breath on any remapping company honouring a warranty if a fault develops and the dealer refuses to fix it even although they claim they would.

I don't know if you have ordered yet but maybe Fiscon will do the same deal or a group buy again with 10% off http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=127988.80

Are you going to do any before and after testing? Good luck and let us know how you get on.

will let you know how easy everything is tomorrow, once I'm done off into glasgow so should be able to see how she performs, then some little twisty roads back from the fort on the way home again.
