If thats the case then fair do's.
I do like going to the dealers for resale value though. If someone has made the effort to try and go to the dealers for higher quality parts then maybe it could be worth it when you come to sell it, or make a claim on the insurance?

I got a blue temp sendermajig from gsf but not got round to fitting it yet, cant argue for 6.50 ish (especially if it works as it should)
The guys also offered to look around it for me for nothing which was sound

Lol, I think I started the hatred: http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=133365.0

Some parts can be good - some of it is parp though, but if you stick to the OEM rated kit, you should be fine.

I use GSF all the time, for brakes, filters, bearings, belts, heater matrix, exhaust... You name i've probably bought it from - I've never had any problems with their products apart from a faulty water pump - needless to say from the £100's i've spent there generally i'm very happy.

I only use the main dealer for parts that are unavailable, like quite recently; heater control cables..

I wouldn't worry about using GSF many of their parts come with a warrenty anyway.

Cheers

What about www.vwspares.co.uk ? Their stuff seems very good value and I always thought it was OE (although I could be wrong).

In any case, I've bought a thermostat and water pump from them and it's been on there for over a year now with no issues.

Gsf thermostat is rubbish, mine was stuck! I would recommend doing the boiling water plus thermostat on a string routine to be 100% sure before it drops into ur car :)
