Reving from cold.. stutters a lil bit around 2k until warm ish (a min or two)

Mine does the same and doesnt even idle at all when cold. Am yet to change the sensor cus I aint been paid yet. Have you tried running it from cold with the sensor unplugged?

Nah it only started doing it a bit today, i was in a position to pull over so i did that and gave it a few gental revs

I'm pretty sure I saw on a thread on here somewhere that if the sensor goes faulty then the ecu goes to like a default setting for cold starting n whatever like that (safe mode?). First thing I would do is see if anything changes when the sensor is unplugged maybe, but dont quote me on it  :smiley:

with the sensor unplugged it will be a right pain to start, especially cold!  if you have the sensor unplugged it puts the ecu into timing setup mode, which pulls the ign timing right back, will make it drive rubbish.

replace the sensor, its only £14ish from VW.

Why not put it down to recent cold and also damp mornings/nights? Mine has been a bit of a bugger just this week, so i took her for a blast tonight to blow some cob webs. In my experience this time of year is sh!t for these old cars as they just dont like moisture!!
God sake, my indicators stopped working on Monday*, it's all about the sh!tty weather me thinks. :smiley:

inj cars should not be effected by the cold, if they are then summat aint right. even my old 1.6 carb was always perfect no matter what the weather ;)

If anything - mine starts on the button when its cold! When its summer, it cranks for 3-4s before firing.
