You can charge it whilst it is still in the car you just plug it to the - and + and run the charger by the mains in your garage. I wouldn't suggest you try and turn the car over with it connected apart from that its fine.

obviously disconect your terminals first!
and always take the caps off each cell..... otherwise gas will build up in the battery and it may explode!
