could anybody please tell me how i can bleed my cooling system on my 89 8valve.ever since i replaced the water pump the bloody thing doesnt work i have tried running it till the fan comes on with the cap off but it still doesnt get hot
 ???please help

its self bleeding! but sometimes air gets trapped in the matrix! the only thing i can suggest is you disconect the 2 pipes which conect on the matrix at the back of the bulkhead! and the right pipe connect a hose to it and run water through it you should see the water flowing back out the other hose! do this until its pouring out give it 20 secs to 1 min!

and then reconect your 2 hoses.... top up your coolent you shouldnt loose much!!.... start the engine wait it its warm you should have warm air!

Has it got those bastard bypass pipes? They are renowned to be a pain in the bum and would suggest you either get new ones or just take the buggers off and fit straight through pipes.

make sure you have the heater set to max heat when your bleeding it, otherwise u'll get air locks

i would get new ones cos they are there to prevent the matrix exploding if the pressure in the system gets to high. they were recalled by vw and put in as a safety measure
