firstly a little history:
2x Master Cylinders for the clutch have been done. Both times the pressure on the clutch pedal dropped, and when the MC was done the car ran fine and was absolutely okay. There was no slipping of the clutch and no burning smells etc.
Pressure has been dropping for a while (3-4month) on the clutch pedal and the missus then informs me its down to about 1cm of travel!!

Next day she goes out to go to work and the clutch has then refused to engage although pressure was the same. Result was the gearbox refused to budge. RAC called, (ExVAG tehcnician)and began pumping the clutch pedal working up enough pressure to change gear. He then tops up the resevoir as it was low and also feels it necessary to bleed the nipple against the box as often "it can be done whilst the car is in one piece". Final result of this is the MC valve appearing to be jammed in the shut position and all pedal feel is lost and the pedal drops to the floor with no resistance.
I then take it to the garage via a tow and leave it with them with the RAC technicians take that it is still the MC and nothing else at this point.
Garage then strip the gearbox and find oil on the clutch plate and state that the shaft seal had gone leaking oil onto the clutch and contaminating it, and the release bearing had then seized. I need a quick answer from anyone who knows whether this sounds right as the garage need to know if to go ahead with the work in the morning.
