Wheel offsets
« on: 30 October 2009, 09:55 »

I have the cjance of getting a set of 19 inch BBS CY rims.

They are 112 x 5 PCD so that is fine but the offset is ET35.

Will this sit out too much?

Depends on the rim width. Neil gti's wheels are 8.5 with an offset of 52mm (ET52). Read this thread for pics and info:

I think the offset is going to be too small. It would be different if it was too big an offset then I could have used a spacer.

An extra 17mm each side, so an effective track increase of 34mm - going to tramline like buggery under hard braking, and will do little for your wheel bearings and bushes.

And if you increase tyre width from 225 to 235 then thats another 5mm sticking out - lots of debris being flung at the outer edge of the wheelarchs or worse down the side of the car.
