Need abit of help with my MK 3 GTI

Well i got my GTI and its sweet as i love it.
I just dont like that fact it dont like me.
2 main problems feel free to help all advice welcomed and thanked.

1# When i start the car cold it will cut out unless i give it some reves and keep them above tickover level. Also happens when it is still cold and driving when i put clutch in (Pritty dangerous if u ask me) im forever bumping it back off while driving. it dont help when th power stering turns its self off aswell lol.

2# When it is going its good but one thing missing MUSIC!!!. the sterio turns its self off and then on when it wants to but if i twist my key or push it in it works till i let go of key? any one have/had this problem.

lots of info in mk3 section, the key thing sounds like the common ignition switch being knackered
the cutting out could be many things, try cleaning TB first i rekon then check out the multiple cutting out mk3 thread u;; find
