ive just added MK3 golf GTI 16V to my vw transporter policy with NFU and it more than doubled the policy. im 38 with clean licence(not sure how i've managed that) and full no claims.

I know its group 16 but come on now. thats rediculous :cry:. im crapping myself now about modding it. wanted to lower it and put bobet A's on. think im gonna shop around. i had to insure it sharpish so i could pick it up and tax it. i live in cornwall and the car is in southampton and i wasnt gonna drive it without tax and insurance.

Your transporter policy sounds like it's a commercial insurance product and therefore may not be set up specifically to take standard road cars at a normal rate. I would suggest taking a look at a specialist insurer as by the sound of things it's going to be more of a toy than a workhorse.

Someone like HIC, Flux, Brentacre etc will be able to accomodate mods as well.  :smiley:
