Hi there,

I've had to replace the original tape head unit I had, now i've bought a universal apaptor and have been using a mates cd player
but it skips all over the place and i want to go back to a tape cassette so i can use my i-pod through the tape cassette.

will the gamma one's i've seen on ebay work with my MKII?  also I borrowed a rover 770 tape head unit and that was locked so do I hvae to worry about security codes with the head units I buy?

thanks alot in advance, I am very much a newbie

You can get them to work but you need an extra 12v to the head unit but cannot remember where it goes.

Used to have one in my old mk2 with the cd changer in the centre console.

Yep it will work fine, as mentioned above you may need to add an extra live but that will all become clear once you have the thing in front of you. I have a gamma in my a plate mk2 and that works fine.
Yes make sure that you buy one complete with the code as you'll definately need it.
