Windscreen wipers gone ballistic
« on: 23 September 2004, 22:03 »
Wonder if anyone has experienced a similar problem.  My wipers have gone mad.  They turn them selves on both front and rear in both intermitant and full mode at no particular time or pattern.  Happening all the time recently, began just everynow and then.  Once they start i cant stop them, they just seem to stop when they feel like it.

Please help cos its drivin me up the F'in wall not to mention how much of an idiot I must look drivin round on a sunny day with both front and rear wipers goin full pelt.

Cheers

Not sure but sonds to me like you stalk has had it.
Mine can be a bit tempremental at times with the stalk being a bit sensitive.

Yeah, my money's on the stalk being shafted.. time for a trip to the scrappy :P
My rear wiper won't cancel once you've poked it, unless you turn the ignition on.. anyone know if there's a repeater unit somewhere that might have gone wrong?

Take the stalk off and give a good clean.  Sounds like a dodgey contact.  You know where there's another identical stalk, but it might be a bit emotional paying for it!
