Hi, new member here.

Hi Guys,

New member here.

I'm Chris. I've had VW's before, but unfortunately been to the dark side (Jap) but picked up a Mk2 GTI 8v last weekend.

Bit of a project car with a few 'issues', so might be relying on some advice along the way. Hope you lot will be able to help.

Will post pictures up along the way.

cheers

Chris

Wouldn't be fun if it was easy, but does it have to be this much fun?

Cheers for the warm welcome guys.

Here's the new car.

Picked up from Wales at the weekend. Good runner with a slight tapping from the top-end under load - going to investigate this weekend. Previous owner fitted coil-overs, uprated exhaust. Good body work (minus lack of shine), 2 sets of wheels and plenty of spares. Not bad for £450.

First job is to sort the paintwork out and get the wheel arch sorted.

I've put a post up in the 'wanted' section if anyone has a wheel arch trim for sale

Chris

Update here for you guys.

Got a few hours of work done today.

Whole body rubbed down with Autoglym Paint Renovator then given a good going over with Autoglym Super Resin Polish. Blackend the plastics then took her for a little spin. A pretty good improvement over the state she was in when I bought her.

Anyone know the best place to get some front Wheel arches trims from? Is the remaining front one a standard GTI 90's spec?
