indicators side light wiring
« on: 05 October 2004, 16:58 »
Hi,

I got some of these but when I wired up the sidelights i noticed the bulbs got very very hot very very quickly so i took them back of again. Is there a way to fit these?

I have single headlights with sidelights in them, i cut into there and joined them up to the indicator sidelights, not exactly genius so maybe this is why they got so hot? Is there a better way?

check your voltage going into the new sidelights. you may find it's too high and running the bulb too bright and hot.

i havnt checked for the temperature but mine work alrite.

I cut my old indicator plug off, joined this to the indicator sidelight. connected this to the headlight sidelight plug.

lmao. Its the indicators with built in side lights. Blue i did exactly the same way as you, runs very hot very quickly like Dizzy said. I will do a current test. I sort of remember if you do a cut and join theres more power going through because of less resistance, something along the lines of that, i maybe totally wrong.

Solo knows what im on about enit bruv ;)

what ill do is put some resistors in-line the wires sometime and see how it goes. Or uprate the bulbs.  Hope i havnt melted my new big bumper indicators :-\

Device,
were on about the crystal big bumper indicators with built in sidelights. when you have normal lights running, the indicator sidelights come on with them.
