Scratch repair, thinking of giving it a go.
« on: 09 October 2009, 19:37 »
Can't afford a proper job right now, but I am planning on repairing some "to-primer" scratches like so:

Lightly sand around the scratch
Apply either a scratch touch up with a paintbrush or spray can (dunno which?)
1200 it flat
Lacquer
1500 to blend it out.
Cutting compound
Polish
Wax.

sh!te idea? Think it should be better then just white.

Then I've got a scrape on the bumper, although it's still all purple, the plastic is scraped up. I'm thinking:
400 to flat the scrapes
Quick prime around the surface
Block down primer
Rattle can it
1200
Lacquer
1500
Cutting compound
Polish
Wax

Good idea, bad idea?

Better then nothing until I can get a proper job, I know the rattle lacquer will peel after a while but I'm hoping by then it'll get a proper job.

Cheers. :)
Golf MK3 1.8 auto and I didn't pay a grand for the "priveledge", auto windows all round and a AC. Oh and I've got a luggage net you pricks!

Does that make my willy look bigger?

Oh yeah it's called Helda or something....
