I was serious about the door hinges.
Over on the Australian Golf6 forum there is mention of a recall for door hinge problems.

Someone has to buy new cars or the whole market would collapse and with a warranty who cares,have you heard of the bathtub curve which applies to any thing mechanical ?Its more likely to breakdown at the start or end of its life not really a problem at the start because you get a warranty
