HID full beam (aka high beam or main beam)

Hi guys,

I got my golf about a month ago now - loving it.

Since i got it i've put in 55w HIDs for my dipped beam as i've got projectors, and they're bada$$. I had to get them imported as you can only get 35w from the UK.

I'm now looking to put HIDs in my full beams, but as you'll all know, theres like a twisty thing that holds in the bulb for the full beams, and it clips in to place when you turn it. A bulb on its own will not sit as it stays unsecured. Have any of you put HIDs into your full beams? If so, how did you secure the bulbs?

Anyone have any idea how i could secure bulbs into the main beam socket without that metal clasp thing?

P.S i do have philips +80% bulbs in there at the moment, before some of you suggest that. And i've also used 100w bulbs in the past and they're actually not as bright as these philips bulbs, but HIDs are just amazing in terms of light output.

Erm, what headlights do you have? Cus I honestly don't have a clue what the f*ck this 'twisty' thing is you're on about.

I've owned VR6 headlights, CL headlights, Vento headlights, and Hella quad lights.. and I still don't recall them having a 'twisty' thing lol.

I've got hella angel eyes, not led ones. They have projectors for the dipped beam. They look basically like normal mk3 golf headlights, but with angel eyes on them, and the back all the wiring looks what i presumed to be original. Its like there aren't clips for the high beam, but small metal bits that stick out just behind the base of the bulb when its plugged in, and to put them in, you have to twist those metal holder bits into it to pin it. Quite annoying that they couldn't just make normal clasps
