Speedo Display Died - Wheres the fuse box kept?
« on: 23 September 2009, 16:29 »
On the way to work this morning my in speedo display died (the display that tells you your mileage etc). Im guessing its maybe due to a fuse going out. Where is the fuse box kept and anyone know which one is for the display?

Im hoping it is a blown fuse otherwise VW will have me bent over as car is out of warranty!

For your sake I hope it's a fuse as otherwise you'll be wanting a new mfd cluster.

The Golf has two fuse boxes, one in the engine compartment next to the battery, and the other hidden in the end of the dash on the drivers side.  Look in this thread for further help - http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=54324 :afro:

If you need a new cluster and don't have highline, you could use this opportunity to upgrade!

I had to have a complete new cluster fitted a month or so ago.

The MFD screen kept going off/losing pixels.

Luckily I managed to get it done just before the warranty expired. No idea what the part cost was, but guessing it wasn't cheap.

Also it was on back order and took ages to come in.
