Why carbs?
« on: 24 September 2009, 22:59 »
I've seen a few threads here about putting bike carbs on a 2.0 engine and was just wondering why people do this? What effect does the carb conversion have?
Thanks in advance

Dave Walker, of Emerald finished his last column in PPC with:

Quote
I used to be undecided about carbs, but now my mind is made up, I won't have them in the workshop.

Carbs are the reason cams have 'power-bands' on them - with proper injection you should be able to get power over a much wider rev-range.

Only someone with the complete fear on them about electrics would fit carbs to an injection engine.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.
