striping gti trim and fitting the cl trim and bumpers would be easy and prob cheap but having it all sprayed after is wear id be screwed lol i couldn't afford a respray  :embarassed:

thats how im starting to feel lol but just couldn't afford all the work that would need to be done to make it smooth and clean looking :( maybe one day when money pics up.  :wink:

its only removing the arches... hoping you dont have rust, polishing the paintwork underneath where the arch was, and fitting some CL trim by the front arch... simples

The GTI side trims are thicker than CL side trims so technically he'd have to buy a complete set of CL side trims. Which I just so happen to have :wink:

+1 it looks better with CL side tyre.

If you really wanna take the arches and skirts off.. then do it

All you'll need to do is buff the arches up where the arch covers have been, and fit CL side trims. Nothing needs spraying, just as easy as fitting them onto the car.

hey am a newbie with a mk3 and am also not a fan of the plastic trim. id love to remove it so its only stuck on? and what cl bits do i need to replace with? any pics ect?

The arches are rivvetted on, just drill them out, you need a complete set of CL side trims and they clip on.

surely if they are rivitted on its going to take more that a buff to look mint again :smiley:

No as the rivets are under the arch edge, when you remove it you will see what I mean.
