Anbody know of a decent camper forum?
« on: 21 September 2004, 16:01 »
As the subject says.........
I've managed to find one on the camper & commercial mags website but it only has 300 members so not quite enough to get quick replies and the amount of info required. Ideally I need one that covers the T2 and T25 if anybody knows of one?

Toby

Not solely camper but mainly air-cooled, try this one and there's over 10,000 members with well over 100 on at most times http://www.volkszone.com/VZi/

If it's quick replies you are after this forum is the one. I can't keep up with threads on this forum but they move like shat of a chrome shovel on that volkszone forum.  :)

You're welcome tobz.

I was well happy with the repair on my cab, they changed the panel completely and didn't repair the old one, they did some other body work for me by the front indicators and that was spot on as well, in fact I was well chuffed with it all and it looked like a new motor until I saw that the hood lining had been ripped on the inside slightly when they took the hood off to do the panel  :(, so I've got to take it back next week and they said they'd sort it for us, other than that they did a real quality repair.  :)

Glad to hear they did a top job, sounds like your pride and joy has been restored to its former glory, just don't let the neighbour anywhere near it again.

Just checked out the volkszone forum.............jeez it's really happening in there, stacks of info, and stacks of lovely motors for sale!
I especially like this one:

Don' think there would be much left after one winter in this country though :-\

Cheers guys, with the suggested sites I've now got deep into the links and have a whole load of info/reference sites cropping up in my favourites. Looks like with my current finances I may have to settle for a T25 camper, doesn't quite feel the same but I don't think I can stretch to a roadworthy bay window aswell as finding my dream mk2 golf. I'm now on the lookout for a half decent transporter minibus or van to convert.
Found the perfect book aswell (may be of use to others):

You're certainly right about the volkszone forum gibby, I started a thread on there yesterday, got a few answers but now it's already a few pages down!
Lets just hope this forum stays at a happy medium with plenty of info but not swamped by it all.
