i did one today as mine was getting desperate......
went makro and got some castrol gtx magnatec for ?10+ vat! this is ?22 in halfords... i normaly get the valvoline as a place i know sells it for ?10.90
its only 4.5 litre but for ?10 saving i cant grumble!
on filling the engine this stuff reeks i havent used this stuff in ages and its come in the new daft '' harder to use'' bottles!
thing which got me worried is that i tipped the oil filer up to drain the oil out of it and at it was stopping i shone a touch at the oil and i could see extremely small bits glittering! you had to look carefully! this must be normal engine wear as its always had oil in and its never gone below minimum! unless its something to do with the oil
and ive been using the synta silver! of which is also in the vr6! i hope this isnt causing theses bits!
